Winfield amassed many accomplishments during his 22 year major league career. He won seven Gold Gloves (two with the Padres, five with the Yankees), was an All-Star every year from 1977 to 1988, started All-Star Games in 1979, 1981, and every year from 1983 to 1988, and batted .361 in the twelve games. He is also a member of the 3000 hit club, reaching the milestone in 1993 as a member of the Minnesota Twins. Winfield's most glorious moment occured in game 6 of the 1992 World Series as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays. In the eleventh inning with the score tied, 2-2, and two out, Winfield doubled down the left field line to give the Jays a 4-2 lead, and they would hang on to beat the Atlanta Braves and win the first world championship in Toronto Blue Jays history.
